The recurring risk of cyber attacks

In the beginning of November 2023, a company managing real estate assets of the Greek state, was attacked by hackers and consequently suffered a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) affecting the normal course of its operations. The topic of implementing a robust cyber-security system thus took center stage with opposition blaming the government for not cultivating awareness and handling the cyber-security as a trend and not something to take into serious consideration.

A data breach was luckily avoided and operations of the company were gradually restored, but the incident goes on to bring out the importance of establishing a competent IT-infrastructure and the necessity of introducing a competent legal framework on a national level not only throughout the EU. At DP-Dock, we work closely with the IT departments of our clients, offering a holistic approach on data protection.
