What does the regulation on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online cover?

The regulation on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online, also known as TCO (Terrorist Content Online Regulation), has been in force since June 7, 2022. Its aim is to prevent the spread of terrorist content on the Internet and thus strengthen public safety in the European Union. It establishes a set of obligations for hosting service providers and applies to companies offering their services in the EU and publicly disseminating information, regardless of teir location.

Hosting service providers who do not have an establishment in the EU must designate a legal representative in the EU who is responsible for the receiving, complying with , and enforcing removal orders and decisions issued by competent authorities.
